I loved this book! It is so well-written, and the descriptions so vivid, that you feel you are along for the cross country ride with Charles Bentley Kidd and Ken Kendrick. It's a raunchy, rib-tickling romp that will keep your attention from beginning to end! I laughed out loud so much while reaading it that my husband has now comandeered my Kindle and won't give it back until he's finished reading it. Very enjoyable story, I found myself looking forward to getting back to the book. I'm looking forward to Mr. Poulin's future works!
Fun, funny, and at times hilarious. Poulin writes outside the constraints of political correctness, taking the reader on a ride they won't soon forget. A great book you won't want to put down.
I am in the middle of tax season as a tax preparer so I am moving slowly through the book. It got me from the first and keeps my interest. I am enjoying it very much. Will follow up when I finish.
More than once I found myself laughing out loud while reading All American Kidd. Funny, engaging, and clever, this is a wonderful road trip to redemption. I can only recommend you hop along for the ride.
This story will grip you right from the prologue, and you won't want to put it down between chapters as you anticipate what happens next in the journey of these characters who feel like your personal friends by the end. Yes, it's a long read, but you won't have a problem staying engaged, and you'll be surprised how quickly the story ends. I recommend "All-American Kidd" to anyone looking for a fun, humorous book to enjoy.
This book starts out in a way that you can't put it down. The characters are all unique, each with their own personal story/struggle. Intertwined are the comical parts throughout the whole book that mix well with the serious aspects to keep you laughing...sometimes out loud without realizing. Well written with unexpected surprises throughout to keep you coming back until the end. A story, I am sure, everyone can relate to one character or another. Definitely a read for adults only. My only wish was more for Kenny at the end but to some degree that is implied! Read on!
I read All American Kidd 2 days before the midterm election and it made me cringe and laugh at the same time. We are a nutty group, us voters, but not nearly as bizarre as the pols we elect and then summarily toss out of office. This novel ranks up there with great political satire of the past. Bravo!
